The region is characterized by industrial specialization with a predominance of manufacturing industry
East-Kazakhstan region’s industry structure is dominated by manufacturing sector (its share is 83%). The region is a major ore mining producer in the country. The region’s mineral raw material base is rich with mineral, mainly ore deposits. Non-ferrous metallurgy is a leading industry in East Kazakhstan region. In agriculture, livestock production is a key sector with mainstream in meat, dairy and wool.
