The area is an industrial region of Kazakhstan
Karaganda region specializes in industry - mining and manufacturing industries produce about 42% of GRP. Mineral-rich deposits and convenient geographical proximity to the capital provide opportunities for a variety of business activities. In agriculture, livestock production dominates with a focus on beef cattle, sheep and horse breeding.
