Almaty region is one of the densely populated regions in Kazakhstan. Transit capacity has developed due to favorable geographical location and transcontinental roads passing through the territory of the region. Natural and climatic conditions, historic monuments, recreation facilities create opportunities for tourism development. Soil quality, water availability and mild climate are favorable factors for farming. Natural climatic conditions, wind, solar and hydro-energy capacity contribute to the development of alternative energy.
